Precision Machine Assembler
Swanson-Erie Corporation, since 1919, a leader in advanced machine design and build, is seeking a Precision Machine Assembler.
The primary purpose of our Precision Machine Assembler is to build assembly machines from design drawings, integrating chassis, tooling and other manufactured and purchased parts into a precision assembly machine.
Essential Job Functions:

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications and shop orders (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic)

Identify efficient setup, production methods, and sequence of operations for machine assembly

Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints

Select the appropriate tools, jigs, and fixtures to be used in machine assembly

Lay out hole locations and drill and tap holes on parts for assembly as required

Fit and assemble machine components referencing detailed drawings and schematics

Verify alignment and tolerances of moving parts

Assist with machine start-up and testing; assemble, set-up and operate machine to verify conformance to customer specifications
Minimum / Preferred Qualifications:

High School Degree minimum required. 2 Year Technical Degree in machining or other manufacturing field preferred

A minimum of 2 years of hands-on machinery assembly experience; experience with hydraulics and pneumatics preferred

Ability to read/interpret prints and strong mechanical aptitude

Good communication skills, good organizational skills, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Ability to work semi-independently at times, and as a team member with electrical and mechanical engineers and project managers at other times

Must have personal small measuring tools, indicators, and similar items
-
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and the ability to move heavy parts using cranes, slings, carts and other devices

Willing to work overtime and weekends as required; some travel required
